Smoked Oak Plank, Brushed & Lacquered – 150mm x 18mm Solid Wood Flooring

Our Smoked Oak Solid Wood Plank in 18mm thickness delivers depth, weight and true traditional construction. Made from 100% solid oak, this floor offers the authentic feel and structural integrity that many period properties and renovation projects demand.

The smoking process enhances the natural tannins within the oak, creating warm brown tones that run through the timber rather than sitting on top as a surface stain. This gives the boards a richer, more dimensional appearance, with natural variation between planks.

At 18mm thick, this is a substantial solid wood floor designed for glue, nail or secret-fix installation over suitable subfloors. Unlike engineered construction, solid oak expands and contracts more with environmental changes, which is why it is not recommended for use over underfloor heating.

The brushed surface treatment gently opens the grain, adding texture and emphasising the oak’s natural character. It is then sealed with a durable lacquer finish, providing a higher level of surface protection and a slightly more sealed appearance compared to oil finishes. This makes it a practical choice for busy living areas where easier day-to-day maintenance is preferred.

The 150mm plank width keeps the floor visually balanced, while mixed board lengths between 300mm and 1200mm help create a natural installation pattern once fitted.
